Raising Professional Standards in Australian Massage Therapy

AMSA ACADEMY

Course Enrolment and Refund Policy

Effective: September 2026
Last reviewed: September 2026

This policy applies to non-accredited professional-development courses supplied directly by Australian Massage Standards Association Pty Ltd (AMSA Academy). Course-specific information displayed before purchase—including the course fee, inclusions, delivery method, assessment requirements and access period—forms part of the enrolment terms.

1. Course status and learner responsibility

Unless a course page expressly states otherwise, AMSA Academy courses are non-accredited professional development. They are not AQF qualifications, nationally recognised training or VET Statements of Attainment. Learners are responsible for checking whether a course meets the requirements of an employer, insurer, professional association, health fund or other third party before purchasing.

2. Fees and payment

3. Course access

Access instructions will be sent to the email address supplied at enrolment after payment is confirmed. Learners must provide accurate details and maintain access to that email account. The advertised access period begins when course access is issued unless the course page states a different commencement date.

4. Change-of-mind requests

These voluntary change-of-mind arrangements do not limit any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Australian Consumer Law

AMSA’s services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a service has a major failure, a consumer may be entitled to cancel the service contract and receive a refund for the unused portion or compensation for its reduced value. Consumers may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure is not major, AMSA will be given a reasonable opportunity to rectify the problem; if it is not rectified within a reasonable time, further remedies may apply.

6. Course cancellation or material change by AMSA

If AMSA cancels a course before it is supplied, enrolled learners will be offered a full refund or the choice to transfer the payment to another available AMSA course. If AMSA makes a material change that prevents a learner from receiving the course substantially as described, AMSA will work with the learner to provide an appropriate remedy.

7. Assessments, resubmissions and certificates

8. Requesting a cancellation or refund

Send a written request to info@australianmassagestandards.com with the learner’s name, course name, purchase date, PayPal transaction reference and reason for the request. Do not send passwords or full payment-card details.

Approved refunds will be initiated to the original payment method, normally within five business days of the decision. PayPal or the learner’s financial institution may require additional processing time.

9. Complaints and review

A learner who is dissatisfied with an enrolment, service or assessment decision should first contact AMSA so the matter can be reviewed. The AMSA complaints process is available at Complaints Process. Nothing in this policy prevents a consumer from exercising rights available under law.
